Overview
This webinar will provide an overview of the application of Genesis and VisualDOC in the optimization of Automotive Body Structures. Mr. Laxman will focus on the application of different optimization techniques for various areas of the vehicle. Some of the examples that will be discussed are, Body-in-White (BIW) and Component Level Gage & Grade Optimization, Topometry and Topology Optimization, BIW Spot Weld Optimization, Component Level Shape and Topography Optimization, and Optimization for advanced analyses such as Frequency Response.

About the Speaker
Mr. Srinivasan Laxman received his Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Bangalore University and then a Master’s Degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. Srinivasan currently works in the Advanced Engineering Department at Severstal North America, one of the top Steel Producers in the world. At Severstal he has been working in the Design Optimization area for the last 7yrs mostly involving Automotive Structures. He has worked on a number of cost and weight saving projects for Severstal’s Auto customers in an effort to promote the use of steel as the material of choice.
